What are your top ten favorite movies?
I am a total movie buff. I love watching movies šš. Both Bollywood ( Mera Bharat Mahanš ) and Hollywood movies.
Its so difficult to make a list of only 10 movies š„ŗ. Well let me try
The immediate recall movie is Oppenheimer. I was totally blown away by the movie . Cillian Murphy, man , I was already in love with him after watching Peaky Blinders. But seeing him as Oppenheimer was such a total cinematic experience.

Next on my list is a quaint tale of, can a slap end a marriage? Thappad the movie left me feeling, yes domestic violence and misogynist males especially Husbands are a total No, no. Hats off to Tapsee Panu character for walking out of the marriage in a dignified manner and choosing to live on her own. Can this choice be the one everyone can opt for? Would I in a similar situation leave my husband? No easy answers, the movie left me with many uncomfortable choices and questions to ponder š¤.

Ijazat the Gulzar movie is what appeals to romantic self. The songs, the triangle, the dignified but not suffering wife Rekha, the husband Naseeruddin torn between his past and present and the unforgettable Anuradha Patel , what more can I say? I just love this movie and it’s songs . RD Burman and Asha Bhosle combination along with Gulzar lyrics have created each song which is so passionate and moving .

If you need any proof of what a big fan , I am of my next movie – Gone With The Wind, well the proof is , I have dedicated a blog to Scarlett O Hara – https://surekha.art.blog/2023/04/10/dailypromptdailyprompt-1901/ Pl go through my blog

Anyone who has watched Masaan and not come out without any churning in their stomach would be an exception. The scene wherein Vicky Kaushal while burning a dead body realises that it is his nascent beloved girlfriend has left such an imprint on my mind , no wonder Vicky Kaushal is one of the best in the trade we have today .

Can any list of favourite movies be complete without Sholay ? What can I say about Sholay , the movie most loved, most dissected , the trend setter, the iconic one , bas naam hi kafi hai ( The name itself is enough)

Oh My God, how is it possible that I have listed 6 movies without any Shahrukh movies featuring in it . Disclaimer guys, I am ‘Bigger than the Biggest fan of Shahrukh Khan’. Like fevicol tagline , āShahrukh ka mazboot jod hai Tootega nahi.”šš. I love all his movies, Dilwale dulhania , Baazigar, Swades, Pathan,Om Shanti Om, Kuch kuch hota hai, Kabhi khushi, My name is Khan. I can go on and on. Surekha control , control šš. Well today I am going to include Shahrukh Dilwale dulhaniya le jayenge for a simple reason or fact maybe , no one can romance better on the screen than Shahrukh. Shahrukh you are the bestest ā¤ļøā¤ļøā¤ļøš.

The next one on my scanner is Gurudutt ‘Pyaasa’. Gurudutt was a visionary ahead of his times. The pathos, the hopelessness and the selfishness of this race called Humans can be etched only by Gurudutt. Pyaasa’ has romance, tragedy and the hollowness of life which is so surreal . Pyaasa’ also has some of the best lyrics written by Sahir Ludhianvi for a Hindi movie and set to music exceptionally by S D Burma.

Horror, Mystery movies as a genre fascinate me . but Psycho was something completely different ā not just for his personal oeuvre, or the horror genre, but movies in general. Some have even argued that it changed society as a whole. Alfred Hitchcock made so many such iconic movies. But I will still rate Psycho as his best .

Last and the best (It’s so difficult to say this ), one of the most underrated and maybe not a movie everyone will recollect, but which ranks at the top of my list as it left a lasting impression on me is ‘Hazaaron Khwaishein Aisi’ Director Sudhir Mishraās Hazaaron Khwaishein Aisi is a powerful and thought-provoking movie that explores Indiaās turbulent political and social climate during the 1970s. The film tells the story of three young students from St Stephenās CollegeāSiddharth (Kay Kay Menon), Geeta (Chitrangada Singh), and Vikram (Shiney Ahuja)āas they navigate their way through a period of change and upheaval, chiefly the period of Emergency.

These are the movies I love . Tell me which are yours?
