You Went Away

You went away .
And I stood waiting for you .
You went away .
And I kept the hope .
You went away .
And I felt you will come back for me
You went away.
And I writhered away .
You went away.
And I lost my hunger, thirst .
You went away.
And you took away all my smiles.
You went away.
And left behind only sorrow and grief.
You went away.
And I kept on straining my neck till I could no longer see you.
You went away.
And I am in this abyss of catastrophe and disaster.
You went away.
And I didn’t or couldn’t stop loving you .
You went away.
For family duty , obligation and responsibility .
You went away.
And took away all my happiness. You went away.
And refused to acknowledge any of my efforts to make you realise my love. You went away.
And have turned into this unrecognisable person. You went away. And well I am here only.

  1. It’s nice. Honestly, I would have adored it more, if the hope that you mentioned in the first stanza is continued in the end. After all pains too deserve some sense of soothing as natural justice. Who else can understand it better than a law student.😊
