(Bisi Bele Huli Anna) is a traditional classic dish from Karnataka cuisine.
The simple translation of this kannada term is rice and lentils. But it is not simple rice and lentils, but it is a combination of both, loaded with veggies and authentic aromatic spices which add to the taste and the flavour of the dish .

The unique thing about this dish is that it is power packed with nutrients and it is a wholesome meal by itself. You get your dose of carbs in the form of rice, protein in the form of lentils and fibre and vitamins and minerals in the form of veggies and the garnished spices and seasonings.

Veggies enhance the taste , thus add lot of seasonal vegetables

Today you can definitely swiggy or Zomato it , but the best way to have bisibele is to cook it at home as its recipe is very simple and can be made in a jiffy. ( If I can make it, then anyone can šŸ˜‚) And have it hot hot ,as as the dish itself is called bisi ,(Bisi in kannada means hot )

Sit relaxed, add a lot of ghee and enjoy your bisibele bath 😁

  1. Agree with you. My favourite too, next to Pesarattu Upma, which is made out of green moong dal batter. My wife makes them awesomely tasty. I just wish you could taste it and alter your favourite index.šŸ˜€
