During the Ganapati Bappa stay ,it is believed that Ganesha’s sisters — Jyestha and Kanishta, also come to their maternal home . Two idols of Goddess Gauri are brought home and worshipped with elaborate rituals. It also serves as an occasion for women to visit each other for Haldi Kumkum.
