During the Ganapati Bappa stay ,it is believed that Ganesha’s sisters — Jyestha and Kanishta, also come to their maternal home . Two idols of Goddess Gauri are brought home and worshipped with elaborate rituals. It also serves as an occasion for women to visit each other for Haldi Kumkum. Like Ganesha, Gauri also represents health wealth happiness and prosperity.
