Work is Workship

What’s the best piece of advice you’ve ever received?

My father was not the stereotypical dad , but was a cool dad in gen z lingo .

He unfortunately had a short life but the influence he left on me has not been erased even though it’s been more than 25 years since his demise .

He was not a very religious person, but was the most upright ethical person.

As a Government employee, he shouldered major responsibilities and left a mark due to his honesty and work ethics.

He was a man of few words who no doubt indulged me and fulfilled each and every small wish and desire of mine .

He was only stern when it came to reading newspapers first thing in the morning.

He told me, Surekha remember two things every important in life , in the morning however busy you might be , please ensure you read the editorial page of one good newspaper. The second and most valuable thing he told me was , put your heart and soul in whatever you do . Now you are studying, tomorrow you will be working, whatever phase of life you may be , remember if you do the task on your hand with sincerity and hard work , it is as good as praying to God

Work hard and you will never be required to spend time worshipping God

These golden and heart felt words of my baba are still etched on my heart and I don’t recollect any better piece of advice than this .

Do I follow this? well that’s for my near and dear ones to comment šŸ˜„šŸ˜„.

One of my most precious memories with my baba. He passed away barely 15 days post this photo šŸ˜”šŸ˜”

  1. Your post touched my heart.. Fathers are simply not called our superheroes, you are a honest person’s daughter no doubt you are following in his footsteps because since I have known you you are doing too many things at one time and that requires strong diligence which you inherited from Baba.. Keep going he’s guiding you from up there šŸ™šŸ™ā¤ā¤ā¤
