Scarlett O’Hara from the book ‘Gone with the Wind’

If you could be a character from a book or film, who would you be? Why?

Scarlett O’Hara played by Vivien Leigh in the movie

Scarlett O’Hara was a headstrong woman way ahead of her times, ( though I don’t agree with her views on slavery ) who carried her heart on her sleeve, which is so, so like me. I always think through my heart despite having logical brain šŸ˜‚

Me and myself only 😁

Scarlett is a multifaceted personality . Her journey from a selfish , unscrupulous lovelorn women having a child like obsession with Ashley Wilkey to a shrewd businesswoman is an apt study of survival instincts of a human being in tough, evolving circumstances

Her tough exterior which supports her family in their calamity is a beguiling metamorphosis

I , like Scarlett O’Hara am a tough cookie to crack and will not leave any stone unturned to acquire what I want

I , and Philautia

Scarlett O’Hara is at the beginning of the novel , a vain, self-centered, and very spoiled by her wealthy parents. She is also insecure, but is very intelligent. In the times it is set, a beautiful girl having a mind of her own was unheard.

Scarlett has to act ‘ empty- headed and resents it .

Gorgeous Scarlett šŸ˜šŸ„°

Like Scarlett, I am a person who believes, My way or Highway 😜. My parents especially my Father pampered and spoiled me and till today my hubby and all connected with me have to bear the consequences šŸ˜‚šŸ˜‚

Individualistic, Narcissistic, Pompous, Self-absorbed, Self-centered, and Selfish.Thats me 😁

Rhett Bulter, wealthy older bachelor and a societal pariah, overhears Scarlett express her love to Ashley . Rhett admires Scarlett’s willfulness and her departure from accepted propriety as well as her beauty. He pursues Scarlett, but is aware of her impetuousness, childish spite, and her fixation on Ashley. He encourages Scarlett to defy certain Victorian mourning customs when her husband, Charles Hamilton, dies in a training camp. Rhett encourages her spirited behavior in Atlanta society. Scarlett, privately frustrated from the strict rules of polite society, finds friendship with Rhett liberating.

Scarlett realises very late in her life that her true love is Rhett, not her childish obsession Ashley

What I love the most of Scarlett personality is in the end , after telling him she loves him, Rhett Bulter still walks out on her , she says the famous lines “Frankly, my dear, I don’t give a damn.” Wrecked with grief, but determined to win him back Scarlett returns to her home to regain her strength and create a plan to reunite with Rhett.

At the end don’t give a damn to anyone or anything and emerge stronger from each tragedy, disaster, misfortune, misery and catastrophic situation is my take away from my favourite heroine and character Scarlett O’Hara

Make lemonade if life throws limes 🄶

  1. Gone with the Wind, a epic happens only once. Not sure Gen Z even know of it. Very less of mortals and even lesser who have read and even lesser of those who have read exist and even lesser of them with above are blogger to savour such a delightful recipe, well garnished with colors and sprinkled with rarest spices(words) to test the grey cells(taste buds) candid parallel with once in lifetime cast with story grace and elegance, all of a lost bygone era.
